The 4th Annual 
  Run-of-the-Mill 5K Race

   Over 650 participated in this year's race!!!

On June 6, 2010, both a 5K race and a 2 mile walk took place to benefit the Makara Foundation.

The Susan and Chelsea Makara Foundation was founded by Stan Makara in 2006 as a tribute to his wife and daughter who perished in an automobile collision that year.  The Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports local youth development and programs that embody the qualities that these two women exemplified during their lifetimes; i.e. self-respect, academic excellence, athletic achievement, and a love of life.

It was with funding from the Makara Foundation that Girls on the Run of Hunterdon County was launched in 2006 and has seen considerable growth in serving the girls of our community.  Girls on the Run is an after-school enrichment program that educates and prepares girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.  This year, The Makara Foundation is proud to be partnering with Girls on the Run of Hunterdon County for this year's Run of the Mill 5K event.
